Losing your keep edited

No matter where you will go
You will be reminded of her

Her voice, her scent will follow you around

You will search for her in everyone you meet
And the moon, stars and the sun will watch you struggle through the pain.

She was the kind of girl that taught you how to breath right
The one that could make your house, a home.
The one that made the darkest times seem brighter,
That calmed your fears with just a simple smile
And sang lullabies to you while her fingers caressed your mind.

The world fell asleep that night with her voice echoing through it.
No matter where you will go
You will be reminded of her
You will search for her in everyone you meet

You chose some one else over her?
Bad choice mate,
Well the new girl left you, din’t she?
She left you

Just Like you left the one girl this universe made for you

Just you.

You left your girl when she needed you
When she was losing her light fighting for you

You taught her to never love like that ever again
You taught her to doubt every word someone says

But you already know that,

What you don’t know is that

No matter where you will go
You will be reminded of her

Her smile, Her eyes will follow you in your mind

And soon you will see her light up again
And she will find joy with someone new
You will search for her in everyone you meet
And the moon, stars and the sun will watch you struggle through the pain

But You will still keep searching for her in everyone you meet

Because she was the only one you were
supposed to keep.

  1. I think good poetry evokes emotion…this one made me cry. Ah, love…damnit! It’s a good one. Sigh.

  2. So so beautiful, I pray God protects us from making such regretful mistakes, Ameen.

    1. I hope so too but we all might make them anyways xD Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking Muslims do say ameen instead of amen right?

      1. Yes, exactly, we do say ameen. God, I hope I don’t make such mistakes! I pray like insanity when faced with such struggles. We have this guidance prayer that we pray it’s called the “Istikhara Prayer”, it goes like this:

“O Allaah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, I have none. And You know, I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things. O Allaah, if in Your knowledge, this matter is good for me both in this world and in the Hereafter, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge it is bad for me and for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs, then turn me away from it, and ordain for me the good wherever it may be and make me pleased, and content with it.”

Alas, sometimes mistakes are necessary for growth. :/

        Btw, love your blog!

        God Bless,

        MM

  6. My daughter was extremely hurt by a young man she new since middle school and thought she was in love with. She’s 19 now. this poem explains what this guy is going through, since she found someone else who will love her and pay attention to her. She is very kind, a hard worker, and beautiful (and I’m not just saying that cause I’m her Mom), but he made a big mistake treating her wrong and this poem describes it perfectly.

    1. Hey! I bet she is everything you say. Heartbreaks either affect us well or well ruins us. I am so glad she is happy now. And no body, I mean nobody deserves to be treated wrong. I am so glad she got out of it. I bet she’s a strong ass xD Also I am glad she could relate to it! Thank you!!

  16. This was powerful Jadey. “The moon, stars and sun will watch you struggle through your pain” . I love that repetition of line after every punch. They are always there watching you fall in love, breaking up, tearing down.

    1. They are, aren’t they! Maybe the sun is for when we are single, the stars when in love and the moon when we are left alone. Thanks Aliyah Wahliya!
